Landscaping refers to soft elements like plants, trees, grass, and flowers, while hardscaping includes non-living features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and stonework.
A professional landscape designer can help create a cohesive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space while ensuring proper drainage and plant selection. Typically for hardscaping, new plant beds, and buried drainage projects we would recommend a landscape design to better visualize our ideas and to provide an accurate estimate. Our design process includes an initial consultation, site analysis and measurements, design planning, material selection, and final implementation.
We do charge for design work to help cover our time designing your project should you decide not to hire our team for the installation or not move forward with an installation at all. However, we do credit the design fee back to you if you hire our team to do the install. Pricing for design fees does vary based on complexity of the design and size of the job.
Costs vary based on project size, materials, and complexity. A free consultation would provide a more accurate estimate. We are also more than happy to provide rough ballpark figures to start rather than putting together a formal estimate for those who are more interested in cost estimates for budgeting purposes.
Generally a permit is not required for landscaping. Some specific permits such as street occupancy permits and shoreline permits may be required based on the location of the job site.
We can do decorative aggregate, brush finish concrete, paver, porcelain, flagstone, and other natural stone patios/walkways. We specifically specialize in paver patio installations. We do not do stamped concrete at this time. We can help select the best option for your specific project based on function, durability, aesthetics, and budget.
Cleaning, touching up joint sand, and sealing can greatly prolong the life of your patio.
We build concrete block retaining walls and natural stone retaining walls such as limestone outcropping and boulder walls. We can help select the best option for your specific project based on function, durability, aesthetics, and budget.
Pavers offer better flexibility, durability, and aesthetic appeal than plain concrete, but concrete is often more affordable. There are many pros and cons of each and we'd be happy to discuss these with you.
Yes, we can install solar or low voltage lighting to your plant beds or hardscape. We sell path lights, dot lights, well lights, landscape bed lights, up lights, down lights, flood lights, hardscape wall lights, built-in paver floor lights. All of our fixtures come with either white cool or warm bulbs and some are compatible with color changing bulbs.
